de eerst foto’s van onze onderneming.

De werkgelgenheid in Tanzania wordt kunstmatig omhoog gebracht door 3 mensen het werk te laten doen dat “normaal” door 1 persoon gedaan kan worden. Zo ook hier, iedereen lijkt zich er mee te bemoeien of die auto banden nou wel of niet met de bus mee kunnen.

In this picture you can see the Tanzanian solution of lack of work. Just do one job with three persons. Here they try to work out wether or not this tires can come on the bus to Mbeya.

Hallo allemaal!

bericht vanuit Tanzania, dit keer vanaf Mbeya. Dinsdag zijn we met de bus vanuit Dar es salaam naar Mbeya gegaan. We reden door een wildpark en hebben zowaar heel wat wild onderweg gezien. Olifanten, buffels (2 van de “big five”) Giraffen, impala’s, gave vogels, zebra’s en apen. De bus reis ging verbasend goed, het was een hele goede bus (in tegenstelling tot de meeste bussen die je hier ziet) en we waren optijd aangekomen. We verdenken de chaufeur er van zijn opleiding bij schumacher te hebben gehad.

Mbeya is een fijne stad, niet te druk en heel mooi. en ook waar we zitten is een fijne plek. 

Ik zie zoveel nieuwe dingen in een keer dat het moeilijk allemaal te bevatten is. We zijn hier nu een week maar het had ook gister of maandan geleden kunnen zijn dat we aankwamen.

Nog even over de titel. Ter ere van Esthers en Ferry’s verjaardag hebben we gister in een barretje gezeten. De rest spreekt voor zich, het was echt net de hut van oom tom.

A note from Tanzania, this time from Mbeya. Tuesday we catched the bus from Dar es salaam to Mbeya. The only good bus around. On the way we passed a wild park, and we were lucky enough to see some wild animals. Elephants, buffalo’s, impalas, cool big birds, zebra’s, giraffe’s and monkeys. They are so beautiful! It’s a shame, the bus driver has a desire to become a Formula one driver. On the other hand, he got us from one place to another in time.

The city we stay in, Mbeya, is a very nice place. It has aprox 400.000 inhibitors, but it could quite easily be a bit more or less.

For everyone who has seen the lion king, Hakuna Matata is not just from the movie. They use it a lot over here.

de eerste keer; uit Tanzania

Hallo allemaal!

Een eerste bericht uit het verre, en meteen een snelle want alles gaat super traag. Het i heel gaaf hier, zoveel nieuwe indrukken te veel om in een keer te beseffen. i’m so lucky to be here! Morgen gaan we met de bus naar Mbeya. Wat als we geluk hebben 12 uur duurt.

a quick update from Tanzania, And a short one becvause of the bad connection. It’s really a honor to be here! So cool, and so much new things. Inbelievable. In the dutch text i wrote my Tanzanian number cause i don’t get servese on my dutch one. Tomorrow we go To Mbeya in a 12 hour bus ride.

next time i’ll ad more, but for now i’ll leave it to this.

Venice/Venetie

After a few exiting days in Rome with hypes and hypes scheduled in (visiting saint Peters, Sistine chapel, cat sanitary, colesseum, squares, gardens, an amazing opera, wonderful diners, lots of gelati, and so on) we got on a train to Venice.

A few hours to relax, which was quite pleasant since we all felt exhausted. (for insiders: still seems weird we were all so tired since, according to Daniel, none of the walks were more than 10 minutes )

Rome

 Na mijn laatste tentamen hebben Daniel, zijn ouders en ik een tripje gemaakt om elkaar, Rome en Venetie (beter) te leren kennen. Een zeer geslaagde week!

After my last exam Daniel, his parents and me planned a trip to get to know Rome, Venice and… each other . A very successful trip!

Emotional suppport during childbirth in Mbeya, -Tanzania

 Last week the commission approved our research proposals! Very good news. This first research proposal is a summarised one. So now we have to get in to it and add a lot of additional information.
